Note regarding Coronavirus

CareMed insurance plans cover medically necessary treatments in case of acute illnesses. Viral illnesses, such as the coronavirus are included, of course. Therefore, treatment costs due to an infection with coronavirus will be covered. The information also applies in case of a declared pandemic. Of course, you are obliged to keep the risk as low as possible in order not to jeopardize your insurance cover. Further information and FAQs are summarized here.
In case you need assistance, please contact CareMed Assist as indicate on your insurance confirmation. You will also find contact data on our Assistance Website.

Note for new applications
Insurance coverage shall be taken out prior to departure from home country and for the entire stay abroad. We may exceptionally provide insurance coverage even though someone is already abroad. Please note that pre-existing conditions are excluded from coverage and there is a waiting period of 31 days for illnesses if there is no proof of active insurance coverage. In case your previous insurance ends due to the current situation, the insurer needs to individually verify later if your proof of insurance can be accepted to waive the waiting period.

All CareMed employees are insurance professionals and have collected valuable experience during cultural exchange abroad.

We regularly attend international conferences and symposiums and work closely with our clients to be well informed about needs and trends in the travel industry and youth exchange, thus, enabling us to anticipate new solutions.

CareMed insurance policies are constantly adapted to new programs, changing visa requirements, instructions imposed on schools/universities as well we demands by parents and host families. Proposals and modification request are welcome any time. With pleasure, we will review realization and send our feedback.

Philosophy

CareMed policies are adapted to the field of Educational Travel. Especially young travelers are in need of comprehensive coverage abroad at an affordable price. We emphasize on transparent, fair and sustainable long-term solutions. Travel health insurance may be taken out as an individual component, for example, or be included in comprehensive insurance coverage (together with accident insurance, travel assistance, luggage and third party liability insurance).
Our clients' needs are paramount. Enrollment may be done via our website on short notice, insurance documents are available environmentally friendly online. Consequently, we save time and avoid sending it by post.
